Salisbury, Stonehenge, and Stratford upon Avon

By 1/14/2011 ,

few pics from my last winter trip with family. beside Stonehenge, i've never heard any places named Salisbury of Stratford upon Avon before. who knows that Sratford upon Avon is the birthplace of Shakespeare? :S

me and group had a xmas lunch in Grashmere House, Salisbury. despite the fact that no other restaurants opened during xmas, we didn't mind to had British food. tasteless for Indonesian, as usual, but luckily they served nice dessert. they also have a beautiful big backyard facing a small river where we could find a gorgeous white swan over there.

too bad Stonehenge wasn't open during xmas day. we're just able to take picture from outside the fences.

my favourite hotel so far. please don't expect a five star hotel facility with all the formal thingy. it's more like private classic guesthouse. we didn't mind with the small room, because they serve good breakfast, and look what I could find in front of the hotel. that's the best feature as well. ;)

a snowy field alongside the river. poestic isn't it? no wonder Shakespeare got a bunch of inspiration form this city.

the river was frozen. if I come during spring/summer, perhaps I can take a boat ride. :)

will continue the other stories on the next posts.
