the mark is out and i'm halfway to MSc..
sore ini nilai semester 2 resmi keluar. dan alhamdulillah saya masih diberi kesempatan untuk melanjutkan proses disertasi sampai 2 bulan ke depan. artinya, tinggal selangkah lagi menuju Master of Science! (nggak selangkah juga sih, beribu-ribu langkah menuju disertasi euy!)
sempet agak kecewa juga sih melihat hasil nilai. hehe, maklum saya ngarepnya dapet distinction a.k.a. cumlaude (nggak tau diri). boleh dong punya cita2 setinggi langit. ;) tapi nggak apa2 deh, bisa lulus dan dapet merit a.k.a. second class honours aja rasanya udah seneng banget! : D

i might say it's not a perfect timing to celebrate my 25th birthday while being intimidated by assignments (as usual), exams and pre-dissertation madness. call me selfish but i honestly a bit disappointed because there's no birthday surprise from my indonesian friends. we usually celebrate the birthday by giving a small surprise like buying £2 cheesecake from tesco with candles and eating it together, as simple as that. well, guess true friends show their true colours. i thought the most reliable person comes from the same country as mine. haha, what a naive 25th years old lady i am.
luckily, a small birthday party was held between me, nurg, tiffy and her boyfriend. they are besties from same course in MoP. a slice of if plain Kro bar cheese cake became my candle-less birthday cake, decorated with a bouquet of flower from nurg. we continue to (again) spend the night in the library doing the assignment afterwards.
lesson learned, don't expect too much if you celebrate your birthday far from your closest person. i can't count on my boyfriend who currently under pressure on his training in houston. a sweet email at 12 o'clock in indonesian time and short chat in the middle of his class were all he can do to me. don't ask about my family in indonesia, haha. birthday wishes through blackberry messenger and facebook message usually work for them. though i really want to celebrate it by having a warm decent family dinner with homemade tiramisu made by me. :')

here is another random fact of me. the more stress I am, the more I wanna cook or go shopping. these past few weeks weren't easy for me. long distance relationship is killing me! feel like I wanna punch my bf on his face. wheeww, sometimes I'm scared of myself whenever I get stressed out. :[
the best way to soothing me is now by spending more time in kitchen. I'm trying hard to westernized my stomach as well, cos I realize that sometimes it's much more healthier than Indonesian food, less oil and easier to prepare. apart from that, I need to save money for eurotrip on the next easter break. everything is so expensive in UK. and eating outside spend more money than cook by my own.

I've been staying in cosmopolitan student homes, a private hall around university of manchester, for almost 5 months. still love to stay here, though sometimes I get pissed off when my flatmates are too lazy to clean their own dishes or when they're too loud. not that I want to be mean, but I think everyone will feel the same everytime they heard errr...suspicious sounds from neighbor room on the midnight (if you understand what I mean), or if they act like having their own concert hall inside the room.
the rent price here is still affordable, compare to university hall with same facilities. moreover, they provide better location, newly constructed building with the best lighting scheme so far. I like to decorate and personalize my bedroom by putting some cute decorations, colourful storages, comfort beddings, or even pinning few pictures of people I love on the corkboard. not too much, but enough to make me feels like home. :)

it was a frigging cold weather yet came with clear blue sky when a cute friend of mine, jaka, who just bought a new bicycle, was hoping that i could take some pictures of him with his new toy. by that time i was kinda stressful with the courseworks. it's more difficult than I thought and I was hopeless that I could manage to finish it.
i didn't think any further about the assignments when I decided to take my olympus PEN EP-1 and go to whitworth park instead. whitworth park is the nearest park around the campus which i always pass everytime i go to worldwide for groceries shopping. it's not bad place though.
the sky suddenly started to turn into greyish colour. i was expecting the blue sky to remain at least for few hours. luckily, the trees still remained beautiful. as the leaves began to fall and its colour turned to be yellow. nice!
jaka was really funny. he's so shy and started to act weirdly everytime i pressed my shutter on him. anyway, i just met him few days before we depart to manchester. and it was quite surprising when i found out that he's at same age with me, though he looks much younger than me. that's why i always treat him like my younger brother. ;)
he didn't mind to follow my instruction to get the best angle. i asked him to turn around many times, pedaling his bicycle on the grass, or even asked him not to face the camera to look nicer, LOL. he's so obedient and i really enjoyed to 'play' with him . ;p
