wedding progress: june
Aaaahh, too good
to be true. In less than a week, I’ve managed to select few wedding vendors. Yup, 3 weeks ago during my short break
to Indonesia, I started the vendor surveys with my mother. We called and compared one vendor to another, asked for their latest price list. Wedding
venue has been chosen in Balai Sudirman without any doubt, thank God. Later on,
both mother and I explored Tebet area as there are many vendors located around
there.
Sanggar Liza in
Asem Baris was the first place we visited. I wanted to go there badly because
they provide one stop service for make up, hair do, costume rental, and wedding
ceremonial services in Sundanese. If I can save more time by getting all the
services under one umbrella, why not? They offered us wide variety of wedding
packages, starts from ‘pengajian’, ‘siraman’, ‘akad nikah dan resepsi’. A bit
pricey, but still acceptable. Decided to take ‘akad nikah dan resepsi’ package
in one day, and get ibu Liza as the make up artist. Done!
Next stop is
Djoko Sasongko, still around Tebet. We’re welcomed by his assistant and discussed
about the price etc. I was a bit shocked that we have to pay that much in order
to get designer’s wedding kebaya. I never have any designer’s piece in my
wardrobe, so my dismay was acceptable haha. After we left Djoko Sasongko with
empty hands, I called Yasra Studio and Berkat Kebaya, asked for initial
price. Unfortunately, these were ended up without getting any satisfying answers.
We only visited
2 vendors yet really tired. Jakarta's neverending summer always treats me 'so well'. Thus, we went to Starbucks at TIS square for a cup
of iced latte. Me and my mom begun to realize that we’ve to deal with many
things for the wedding, hufffff. That’s the consequence for not hiring wedding
organizer, and I’ve no regret on it (hopefully). I was updating the survey findings on my macbook and, as usual, checking
my facebook account. Myrna Myura, a young prominent fashion designer I’ve been added on
facebook was currently on the news feed, uploading her latest creation of kebaya. Without
thinking any further, I sent her a message asking for availability and price.
Receiving her acceptance and ‘too-good-to-be-true’ price list were truly a joy.
I believe she will be able to design kebaya that I’ve been dreamed of. Yayness!
So, here comes
the latest update of my wedding vendors:
- Venue: Panti Prajurit, Balai Sudirman
- Make up and Hair do (akad & resepsi): Sanggar Liza
- Kebaya (akad & resepsi): Myrna Myura

The rests are
hopefully to be completed after I finish my master study by end of this year. Can’t hardly wait!
